3D documentation of the wooden objects from the graves at Fallward
In many burials of the cemetery at the Fallward (Ldkr. Cuxhaven) numerous wooden grave goods have been excellently preserved. Some of them even show clearly perceptible traces of painting or even larger coloured surfaces in addition to an elaborate notched decoration.
After previous macroscopic and microscopic examinations as well as X-ray fluorescence measurements by Dr. Stephanie Dietz (ABK Stuttgart), wooden finds were now recorded by Laura Hack M.A. (ABK Stuttgart) with a 3D strip light scanner. The high-resolution3D models will later serve as the basis for a virtual documentation and reconstruction of the colour settings. This will make it possible to re-evaluate the entire surface ornamentation - especially in the context of the textiles, which are also variously patterned.
