• Climate change and their consequences on settlement and environmental developments in the area of the North Sea and the Baltic Sea
• Coastel, shelf and marine research, with focus on Sedimentology, geophysics and engineering geology
• Stratigraphic and morphological evolution of the Quaternary landscape of the North Sea basin in the course of climate controlled environment changes
