News from the conservation laboratory
A new addition has joined the NIhK team since August. In the coming months Laura Görke B.A. will handle the conservation and restauration related work on old and new objects at the NIhK.
She completed her Bachelors in Classical Archaeology at Hamburg University, prior to internships in conservation. These led her to study Conservation and Restauration at the HAWK in Hildesheim, Germany, accompanied by further internships abroad: United Kingdom (V&A) and Canada (ROM). After finishing her studies, she worked at archaeological excavations, e.g. in Qantir/Pi-Ramesses, Egypt. She will temporarily rejoin the project in spring 2024, and will pursues a Masters in Conservation of archaeological objects in fall.
We are looking forward to the great collaboration.
