Main areas of research

  • Ceramics from the Roman Imperial period in northern Germany – development and change
  • Chronological and typological analyses of ceramic collections from Iron Age, Migration Period and Early Medieval settlements, aimed at reconstructing social change
  • Archiving of finds and digital cataloguing of archival collections

  • Westgermania in Transition – Publication and multidisciplinary research into the cultural landscape of north-western Germany during the Roman Empire (Academy of Sciences Göttingen, North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences and Humanities)
