In the project “Preserved in the bog” research is carried out not only on the Neolithic megalithic graves but also on settlement areas in order to be able to understand the way of life of the former Funnel Beaker Culture. Several promising spots were localized by drilling, so that the area west of Ahlen-Falkenberg, CUX was examined in more detail at the beginning of February in icy weather as part of a one-week campaign. With a mini excavator, despite the frost in the ground, it was possible to open, archaeologically excavate and document individual areas. Thereby a collection of stones was discovered in a section, which is planned to be completely investigated at the end of April. Working in freezing, windy and cold weather is part of everyday life at research institutions, as each project has a restricted funding period.
